ABOUT ME
Carissa Guiley, M.S., CCC-SLP, IBCLC

I’m Carissa, a Speech-Language Pathologist, and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) specializing in infant feeding therapy. My work is grounded in both clinical expertise and lived experience. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics from Seattle Pacific University, a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Utah State University, and a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Wisconsin. I hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence through ASHA and have received multiple ASHA ACE Awards for continuing education, with hundreds of hours devoted to my specialty. I’m also a member of the International Consortium of Ankylofrenula Professionals (ICAP) and actively engaged in the tethered oral tissues community.
My background in nutrition first sparked my passion for feeding therapy, but becoming a mother truly shaped the way I practice. I feel deeply connected to the families I serve. I’m committed to ongoing learning and continually pursue advanced education in feeding therapy, lactation medicine, infant bodywork, and sensory and reflex integration so I can support the whole child, laying a foundation for development—not just treating the symptoms in front of us.
Nourish Therapy was born from my personal journey. In addition to being a feeding specialist, I’m also a parent to a NICU graduate, two tongue-tied babies, and a recovering picky eater. I know firsthand how overwhelming early feeding challenges can feel, and how deeply they affect families. It’s an honor to walk alongside families during such a vulnerable and important season. I find so much joy in helping babies feel more comfortable feeding and supporting parents as they gain confidence and clarity. Nourish Therapy proudly serves families across the Kitsap Peninsula, with a clinic location in Poulsbo, Washington.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me exploring the outdoors with my family, working on DIY projects around our home, or crafting with my girls.
